Well after what seems like many days of rain and unsettled weather today we woke up to brilliant blue sky and sunshine, not that it stayed for the whole day but it lasted for the morning which was brilliant and I took the opportunity to inspect the hives.
Today I took pictures of each hive and the Queen if I spotted her and I was really lucky today I saw 3 Queens out of 5. The hives are looking pretty good. I am really pleased with them. They are all collecting pollen, honey as and when the weather permits it. The Queens are laying pretty well. Hive A where I killed or helped to kill the Queen seems ok, did not see the Queen in there but she should have hatched on the 18th hopefully managed to fly out on her mating flight and should be seeing eggs soon. Bees are nice and calm, although gave me a couple of warnings, other than that we got on just fine, the thing to remember as I heard someone else say before, just remember each bee that you kill could be the Queen. So I work slowly, consistently, with peace in my mind and heart. If not sure I think about it, if still not sure I leave it, I don’t make any changes.
Right, here are the pictures, have a look whether you can spot the Queen.
