It is a month since Roxy  died, it is horribly quiet in the house but very clean, I am not saying she was dirty, she was extremely clean but I suppose it is like anything else moving around, I’d still rather have the dust etc that came with her. I do miss her, lots and lots, something that I will do for a long time. Mike put on a waist coat the other day with lots of Roxy’s hair on it, little things that trigger memories, feelings.  I do go out in the mornings with Arez our neighbours rottie, just to really get myself going, I do miss my morning walks with her, although I  was thinking the other day and wondering how long she knew something was not right, she had changed a few months prior to the day, and I just wondered how long she had been fighting off the pain, struggle, … she was a bit more sociable which for Roxy was something special, she could not be bothered to go for a long walk sometimes in the mornings either. We are still “happy” with the decision we took that day no matter how hard it was but we still miss her.

After that we have been keeping busy, first I think must have been about a week after , we went to Krivan for a ride, the weather was pretty bad, the visibility was bad, well we got lost, and it took 3 1/2 hours walking to get us back where we started. It was very challenging, a test and I decided I wanted to live and to fight on and although it has been a really, really hard challenge we came out of it well and alive, just tired and proven to ourselves that we still have life in us. Than I fell down our stairs, I was not running, just slipped and really banged my lower back on the edge of the step – not very nice at all. Since than, actually the day after (Mike really told me off for not wearing slippers) we bought slippers. Than I fell on my skis, my ski slipped on ice and unfortunately for me twisted during this brief encounter with ice and did some strange things to my knee. I worried I would not be able to ski but I put on my knee brace that I kept since my last injury on my knee yonks ago and continue on skiing, I am booked for a little op for the 1st of April.  The specialist wants to have a look at the damage and sort out the problem. Mike has had some mishaps as well, seems to think he pulled a tendon in his calf, has a swollen little finger due to a fall a while ago… actually I could just go on, but we still enjoy the sport that we do, we just sometimes forget that to keep going and going and going sometimes means that you will encounter mishap, it is a fact of life.

We had some amazing snow fall a few days after we put Roxy to her resting ground, it snowed and snowed and we had some amazing days, just playing around above the house, than I went alpine trekking a couple of times, we went riding to Chleb and to Ostiepkova Mulda, we went riding of Chleb which was so great, amazing. Love it. So no matter what, it is well worth it. We just had a week of cold mornings and blue skies for the rest of the day, it has been pretty amazing. All in all life is great.

Our ewes are looking bigger and bigger, in my estimation we should have lambs beginning of  march plus, minus a few days. They are looking good and healthy, it has been really good having them here near home.
