Last weekend we said good bye to our black ram, since then our sheep have themselves for company once again. Seems like ages ago when they were three of them. We are hoping to go down to two ewes soon. The weather is amazingly mild so, so far we have not been rushing it too much. But we are also aware that it can change from one day to the next and don’t really wont to be stuck with a lot of jobs to do outside. I think we have pretty much done what needs to be done, but you never know.
The sheep pen is just about ready, I would like to get a couple of feeders to put on the wall for them to eat out of once they are in, which they wont be as long as there is no snow on the ground. Otherwise they seem to be pretty happy outside.
I am missing my bees, I have talked the some of the local beekeepers seems as thought some of them had the same problem as me, with fatalities, some managed to escape without loses, some lost some. Hopefully I will be able to get some new bee colonies come next spring. Start from new, and fight off the intruders, even if I have to stand outside of the hive with a hose on. Although I am honestly not sure what else I could have done. There is always something. I am looking forward to having bees again already. Just need to get some.
